Whois Privacy Protection, occasionally also called WHOIS or Whois Privacy Protection, is a service that hides the authentic contact details of domain name owners on WHOIS check websites. Without such protection, the personal name, street address and email account of any domain owner will be openly accessible. Giving fake details during the domain name registration procedure or altering the authentic info at a later time will just not work, as doing such a thing may result in the domain registrant losing their ownership of the domain. The policies adopted by ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, require that the WHOIS info must be correct and up to date all the time. The Whois Privacy Protection service was introduced by registrar companies as a response to the arising concerns about possible identity theft. If the service is enabled, the domain registrar’s contact details will show up instead of the domain name registrant’s upon a WHOIS lookup. Most domain names support the Whois Privacy Protection service, although there are certain country-code ones that do not.
Whois Privacy Protection in Cloud Web Hosting
If you get a cloud web hosting
plan from us, you will be able to activate Whois Privacy Protection for any of your domains provided that their extensions support this option. You can register or transfer a domain and add Whois Privacy Protection upon registration or you can activate the service for any of your domain names at any time afterwards via the Hepsia Control Panel. The procedure is very easy – once you log in, you will need to visit the Registered Domains section where you will find a list of all the domain names that you’ve registered through our company. For each of them you’ll see an “Whois Privacy Protection” symbol, which will show you whether the service is enabled or not. By clicking on it, you can either Whois Privacy Protect the domain, or you can deactivate the service if it is currently enabled.
Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server
account with us and you register a domain name under it, you can enable our Whois Privacy Protection service without effort. This takes just a couple of mouse clicks in the Registered Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel, through which you manage everything related to your account. This is the place where you can see all your active domains and for each of them you’ll find an “Whois Privacy Protection” icon, using which you can enable, renew or deactivate the service. Of course, this can be done only with generic and country-specific domain extensions that are Whois Privacy Protection-eligible and you’ll be able to see this in advance, so that you won’t end up purchasing a service that we cannot provide.
