Spam Filters
What is an e-mail spam filter? How does one operate? How to enable spam filtering?
Most email messages sent around the world nowadays are spam, in other words – unasked-for messages with various offers or with links to malicious software. Not only are such email messages annoying, but they also pose a risk to your own computer, not to mention that you may get ripped off. That is the reason why a lot of email providers use email filters, which are apps that ‘scan’ all incoming emails and filter the undesirable ones based on their content – what words or phrases an email contains and how many times they’re referred to, what web site a certain hyperlink leads to, what outbound SMTP server the message is sent from, etc. Certain web hosting providers also use the databases of spam-monitoring organizations dedicated to the provision of the most up-to-date information about undesired email messages, to make sure that their clients won’t get any email in their mailbox that should not be there.

Spam Filters in Cloud Web Hosting
If you decide to host your domain names with our company and you choose any of our Linux cloud web hosting packages, you’ll be able to set up anti-spam protection for any email account that you set up. With a couple of clicks in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel, you can switch between five separate security levels. In case you continue to get junk email messages or the spam filters start preventing genuine messages from reaching your mailbox, you can switch to another level just as easily. The quality of our spam filtering service is ensured by one of the most famous email filters – SpamAssassin. In case you do not want to risk omitting a legitimate email that may be mistaken for spam due to its content, you can also configure custom spam filters based on the body, the subject or the sender of the message and forward the emails to a separate mailbox where you can check them at a later time.
- Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you take advantage of one of our Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages, you won’t need to worry about junk messages occupying your mailboxes every now and then, as you can resort to the popular SpamAssassin email filter that we offer with each and every account. Our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel will permit you to enable the filter for any email account with a couple of clicks of the mouse and you can pick any of the five safety levels – from very low to very high. The level can be changed at any moment if, for example, genuine emails get filtered, or if junk emails go through and reach your Inbox folder. To take no chances, you can choose all filtered emails to be redirected to a special email account such as spam@your-domain.com and not to be deleted. In this way, you can go through them every now and then to ensure that you have not missed out on an authentic message. - Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Hosting
