No Data Corruption & Data Integrity
Discover what No Data Corruption & Data Integrity is and how it can be beneficial for the files within your website hosting account.
Data corruption is the damage of data because of various hardware or software problems. When a file is corrupted, it will no longer work properly, so an app will not start or will give errors, a text file can be partially or completely unreadable, an archive file will be impossible to open then unpack, etc. Silent data corruption is the process of info getting harmed without any acknowledgement by the system or an administrator, which makes it a significant problem for web hosting servers as failures are very likely to happen on larger hard disks where vast volumes of information are placed. In case a drive is part of a RAID and the information on it is copied on other drives for redundancy, it is likely that the bad file will be treated as an undamaged one and will be copied on all the drives, making the harm permanent. Lots of the file systems that run on web servers these days often cannot recognize corrupted files right away or they need time-consuming system checks during which the server is not working.

No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Cloud Web Hosting
We have resolved the matter of silent data corruption on all our cloud web hosting servers by using the amazing Z file system, or ZFS. The latter is more advanced than other file systems because it is the only one in existence that checks all of the files instantly by employing a checksum - a digital identifier which is unique for each and every file. When you upload content to your account, it'll be stored on several NVMe drives and frequently synced between them for redundancy. ZFS regularly examines the checksum of all files and when any file is detected as corrupted, it's replaced instantly with a good copy from another disk. As this happens in real time, there's no risk that a corrupted file may remain or may be duplicated on the other NVMes. ZFS requires a lot of physical memory to carry out the real-time checks and the benefit of our cloud hosting platform is that we employ multiple very powerful servers working together. In case you host your sites with us, your information will be undamaged no matter what.
- No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Your semi-dedicated hosting account will be resistant to silent data corruption because all our storage servers use the state-of-the-art ZFS file system. What makes the aforementioned unique is that it uses checksums, or digital identifiers, so as to verify the integrity of every single file. When you upload content to your account, it will be placed on a couple of redundant drives employed in a RAID i.e. the files shall be the same across all disks. All the copies of a particular file will have the same checksum on all drives and ZFS will compare the checksums of the copies in real time, so if it identifies a mismatch, that would indicate that one of the copies is damaged, it will swap that file with a good copy from one of the other disks. Even if there's an unforeseen blackout, the data on the servers will not be corrupted and there will not be any need for a time-consuming system check which other file systems perform after some failure, prolonging the time needed for the server to go back online. ZFS is the sole file system which can really protect your content from silent data corruption. - No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Hosting
